What is a knock-off bike?
-
A knock-off bike is one that is designed and
engineered to resemble an existing popular OEM bike. The
bikes we sell are knock-offs of the Honda CRF50. The frame
dimensions and the geometry are very similar to the bike that
is being "knocked-off". In fact, about 95% of the parts made
for a stock OEM Honda CRF50 will fit a well-made knock-off
bike. Even the motor was designed to integrate seamlessly
into a stock CRF50 frame, and the parts are mostly
compatible as well.
Why are knock-offs bikes so
cheap?
-
One reason is that typically, the cost of a
bike reflects the cost of Research and Development. The
bikes being knocked off have already been developed, so the
tweak the design just ever so slightly, thus being able to
focus on producing the product rather than spending time and
money on R&D. Another reason they are so cheap is that the
factories in China are set up to do huge production runs at
very little cost.
What are the advantages of buying
a knock-off bike?
-
Quite frankly, in most cases, the bikes just
are good quality. But you have to be careful when you are
looking for a pit bike. If you look closely, some of the
metals they use and the quality of welding is sometimes
poor. But, that's why you came to the right place, because
we look at the details that go into the making of a quality
bike and are confident that the products we sell meet the
highest standards.
